Shakudo and Shibuichi Long One Section Cuff

500.00

Mokume Gane, Shakudo, Shibuchi and Sterling Silver long one section cuff. This measures approximately .2" wide, and has a 8" inside circumference. This cuff is a fine, heavyweight, incredibly unique piece of art, comfortable to wear. Handcrafted jewelry made here in Sisters, Oregon

Mokume Gane, translating loosely to wood-grain metal, is a Japanese metalworking technique used to produce beautiful and unique layered and laminated metal patterns.

Shakudo is a beautiful copper (90-96%) and gold (4-10%) alloy which can be induced to a beautiful black and indigo color by a special patina treatment known as Rokusho.

Shibuichi, meaning "one-fourth" on Japanese, represents an alloy that is generally one part silver, and three parts copper, though the formula in percentages may vary.  Shibuichi can be treated- much like Shakudo- by a Rokusho patina treatment to create blue and green tones.
