Karla Proud

Karla Proud has been in the fine jewelry business for over 40 years, beginning with tourmaline gemstone mining in San Diego County, California in the 1970’s. She went on to open a total of six fine jewelry stores in La Jolla, Fallbrook and Beverly Hills, California; Honolulu, Hawaii and Tokyo, Japan. She also managed a jewelry manufacturing facility in Hawaii. Karla has been designing fine jewelry for retail stores and wholesale since 1970. Karla moved from Honolulu Hawaii to Bend, Oregon in 2006 to “Romance the Oregon Sunstone”. Her roots have always been in the mining of colored gemstones. She jumped at the chance to move to Bend, Oregon to be closer to the Oregon Outback and the sunstone gem mining operations.

A Central Oregon Jewelry Arts Gallery

For years I was convinced that opal was Jan’s favorite gemstone. The correct answer is plume agate, but who could blame me when these are the types of opals she collects?!? Even when she has beautiful opals, she buys more beautiful opals 🤪 Tru
We know we’re recognized as a jewelry gallery here in central Oregon, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t show off our spectacular collection of natural stone decor here on occasion! Alabaster lamps and hand carved bowls, fossils, miner
After visiting family in the southeast and seeing big blooms of hydrangea, I decided it’s never too late to highlight these beautiful flowers, even if the cooler season is upon us here in Oregon. #hydrangea #michaelmichaud #michaelmichauddesign
We’re still celebrating October’s birthstone over here, showing off how vibrant our Ethiopian opal is. These are set in sterling silver, and we have an entire collection also in gold! Visit us in the gallery or reach out for more pictures
A gorgeous newly finished piece, with chrysoprase, sapphire, and an Australian opal set in 14kt gold. Just in time for an October birthday! Call the gallery for more details, coming up on the website soon. #jandaggett #thejewel #sistersoregon #sister
As if tourmaline wasn’t a spectacular enough gem for October’s birthstone, you also get opal?!?! That’s just unfair to every other month! Well, here’s one for you lucky October babies, an unfiltered photo and outrageously beau
